Casa de la Cultura Maya together with Chabot Space & Science Center, UC Berkeley Space & Science Laboratory, and Exploratorium The Museum of Science, Art, and Human Perfection, are organizing a cultural event on May 29th, educational workshops and art exhibitions for latino families, and the general public, complementing the show -Tales of The Mayan Skies- making it a unique and unforgettable event.

2007-2008 Events:
April 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya honors Pedro Infante (a famous Mexican actor and singer that lived in Yucatan Mexico) on behalf of the Yucatecan Mayan Community.
Invited by the Government of Honduras, in June 2007 members of Casa De La Cultura Maya Board of Directors participated in the third Mayan Congress in Copan Honduras.
July 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya is invited to participate in the Marin County Fair to present Prehispanic Mayan Dances and their meaning.
August 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya is part of the City of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villarraigosa's Committee to develop a program and culminating event for “Big Sunday.” Over 200 projects throughout the city were completed by the LA Community.
September 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya participated with Dances and presentations by its Director of Culture in the NASA Community Event at Pickleweed Center in San Rafael.
September 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya Dance Group is part the entertainment of the Miss Mexico USA contest.
September/October 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya President and Executive Director Fly to Yucatan Mexico to visit to a Mayan child that Casa De La Cultura Maya adopts to help financially to pay for his heart surgery and help save his life.
November 10, 2007, Casa De La Cultura Maya has its first Mayan Event that displayed the Mayan Art, Music and Food of the Mesoamerican Region. During the event, recognition awards and certificates were given to five Consulates of the Mayan Region and Community Leaders as well.
November 17, 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya forms part of the team of Mayor Antonio Villarraigosa to walk to defeat homelessness in Los Angeles.
November 24th through 26th 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya is invited to participate in the 25th Anniversary of the Mayan Language Radio Xepet in Peto Yucatan.
November 27th 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya forms part of the team with NASA and Berkeley Science Lab Colleagues to do the workshop “The Sun Unites Us All” with the Mayan communities in Peto Yucatan.
December 2007 Casa De La Cultura Maya does its second Toy Drive and provides over 2000 toys to the Mayan Communities of low income in Los Angeles.
April 26th and 27th and May 3rd and 4th 2008, Casa De La Cultura Maya presents a play called the “Immigrant Chronicles” to raised funds for the surgery of Lizar Ucan a 1 year old with a hearth condition.
Invited by the Government of Guatemala, Casa De La Cultura Maya participates in the 1st Mayan Congress in relation to Jade and it’s History in Mesoamerica during the month of June 2008.
July 2008 Casa De La Cultura Maya forms part of the Inauguration Committee to celebrate the first park built in Los Angeles in 100 years. The park is called Vista Hermosa Park.
August 2008 Casa De La Cultura Maya participates in the honoring of Mexican Koreans in Los Angeles at Plaza Mexico.
August 2008 Casa De La Cultura Maya forms part of the Mayor Antonio Villarraigosa’s event Committee for the “Latino Heritage Month”.
August 10th 2008 Casa De La Cultura Maya forms part of the committee and participates in the celebration of the 1st Coronation of the Mayan Princess in the USA.
September 12th 2008 Casa De La Cultura Maya participates during the opening day for the Celebration of the Latino Heritage Month at the Los Angeles City Hall with Marimba Music played by teenage Mayan descendant girls borned in LA.
September 27th 2008 performance and poster drawing contest for Latino youth featuring cultural themes at the LA Zoo as part of the Latino Heritage Month. Casa De La Cultura Maya played an integral role as part of the selection committee for the featured themes.
September 28th 2008 Casa De La Cultura Maya participates in the Central American Parade as part of the Mayan Community in Los Angeles.
October 10th 2008 the Casa De La Cultura Maya Board Members Honored Viola Trigo a famous Mexican singer and widow of Guadalupe Trigo who was and remains a popular Yucatecan song writer and singer. The presentation of a Certificate of Recognition was given Miss Trigo during her only performance in 2008 at Los Angeles.
